I guess it is no surprise that I love color. Really. Have you seen my house?! Okay, okay, I am sure that most of you have not, so here is a quick look into a few painted areas of our house.
I love to add color when decorating or crafting. Color just makes me happy. And just how did I choose all these colors? Paint chips, of course!
Years ago when Mr.Chaos and I got married, I dreaded going to Home Depot or Lowes. What did I want to go to a ‘guy’ store for? Then I discovered the paint chips and the oops paint. It soon became hard for me to pass up those $5 gallon cans of paint. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to do with it or when I was going to use it, but I would buy it none the less. The turquoise wall with the shimmer? It came from the same $5 can of oops paint, as the same paint in the laundry room. We just added Ralph Lauren Oyster paint to it, to give it that shimmer and sheen.
Pretty soon my frequent trips to the home improvement stores had allowed me to amass several cans of oops paint and a plethora of paint chips. I actually felt bad for having so many paint chips. Did you say free? Why yes, I’ll have as many as my arms can hold. Just kidding, but this pin from Pinterest, really did make me laugh…
So, back to my original plan. What to do with all those paint chips? I turned quite a few of mine into a pretty little mosaic for my mantle.
I got my idea from this blog. And here are some really fabulous paint chip projects from a few of my crafty friends.
So go ahead and add some color to your life, I promise that it’s fun! And then let me know if you do I project and I will gladly feature it!
